  • Antibiotic Policy

We work hard to not overuse antibiotics.

We educate families on appropriate use of antibiotics, but follow evidence-based guidelines and don’t automatically treat ear pain or a green snotty nose with antibiotics.

We do not routinely prescribe antibiotics over the phone as we do not believe that is good medicine. We will prescribe an antibiotic when we believe it is an appropriate treatment.

  • Vaccine Policy

As medical professionals, we strongly believe that vaccinating children according to the recommended schedule is one of the most important ways to protect them from serious illness. Our goal in sharing this information is not to pressure or alarm you, but to help you make well-informed decisions for your child.

We support the vaccination schedule endorsed by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), and we encourage all families in our practice to follow these guidelines whenever possible.

    Our practice believes that:

    • Vaccines are a safe and effective way to prevent serious illness and save lives.
    • All children and young adults benefit from receiving the recommended vaccines on schedule.
    • Evidence consistently shows that vaccines do not cause autism or other developmental disabilities.
    • None of the vaccines we carry contain Thimerosal.
    • Vaccination is one of the most important health-promoting interventions we can provide as your child’s healthcare team.

However, we also recognize that every family’s circumstances and comfort levels are different. We deeply respect parents’ decisions regarding vaccines, and we are committed to working with you—even if you prefer an alternate or delayed schedule. Our priority is to have open, respectful conversations and to partner with you in providing the best care for your child.

Vaccines have been so effective that many of today’s parents have never seen illnesses like polio, tetanus, whooping cough, bacterial meningitis, or even chickenpox. While this is a testament to how well vaccines work, it can also make it easy to underestimate the risks these diseases still pose. Staying informed and discussing any concerns together helps us keep your child, and our community protected.

Please feel free to bring us any questions or concerns you may have. We are here to support you, guide you, and work alongside you in caring for your child.
